What ELVO does well
ELVO is a self-service CPMS for installers and small to medium operators. According to its website, it is certified by the Open Charge Alliance for OCPP 1.6 (Full and Security), works with more than 700 AC and DC charger models, has a native driver app for iOS and Android, cloud load balancing and ISO 27001 certification. It costs €3.99 per station per month, with every outlet on the station included, a 30-day trial, no setup fee and no minimum term.
Put plainly: if you have a few stations and want a native app in the stores, ELVO is a good option and its subscription is cheaper than ours.
The maths: per station versus a flat price
ELVO charges per connected station. askacharge.com charges €20/month with unlimited chargers; most customers add managed hosting (€15/month), so we compare against €35/month. If you host the platform yourself, it is €20.
The crossover is at 9 stations. Below it, ELVO costs less each month; above it, the gap grows with every station you add, because the askacharge.com price does not move.
The fee on each payment
Both take a percentage only when the driver pays through the platform. ELVO publishes 3% per paid session. askacharge.com charges 2% + €0.25, with the payment gateway fee already included. ELVO's website does not say whether the payment processor's fee is extra, so this compares what each one publishes.
On small sessions (AC in a car park, an hour at a hotel) ELVO's fee is lower. On large ones (DC, fleets) ours is. If you collect payment yourself —with the room, with the pitch, on a monthly invoice to a fleet— neither platform takes a fee.

No lock-in on either side
Both work with standard OCPP and no annual contract. You can try askacharge.com with your chargers by changing the server address in their configuration, and go back to ELVO the same way if it doesn't convince you. If you want to try it before touching anything, the dashboard comes with 5 simulated chargers that charge on their own.
When to choose each one
- Choose ELVO if you have 8 stations or fewer, your sessions are mostly small, you want drivers on a native app from the stores, you need an officially OCPP-certified provider, or you need the dashboard in a language other than Spanish.
- Choose askacharge.com if you have 9 stations or more (or plan to grow), invoice in Spain and need Verifactu or TicketBAI, want drivers to pay with a QR code without downloading anything, want your own brand without an Enterprise plan, or will use OCPP 2.0.1 or an AI agent.
