Where the setting lives
In the FusionSolar app, logging into the charger as installer over its own Wi-Fi: Services → Commission Device → O&M → Third-party management system → OCPP Settings. Huawei's official guide (FusionCharge AC, OCPP 1.6 Protocol Messages and Commissioning Guide) walks through it.
Step by step
- Check the firmware: OCPP arrived on the FusionCharge AC with recent versions (users confirm it from
V100R023C10SPC220). Update from FusionSolar if the section is missing. - Add the charger on askacharge.com with its serial number as identity (the last six digits match its Wi-Fi network name) and keep the panel's password.
- In FusionSolar: Services → Commission Device and join the charger's Wi-Fi. If the phone warns that network has no internet, connect anyway.
- Log in as Installer. The initial password is
Changemeand you will be asked to change it: write it down, Huawei cannot recover it. - O&M → Third-party management system → OCPP Settings → Comm. parameters: Connect to Business Platform = Domain Name; Domain Name =
askacharge.com; Path =/askacharge/ocpp/your-brand; Port =443; Username = the serial number; Password = the panel's. Submit. - Authentication Mode = TLS with basic authentication (security profile 2: encryption and password).
- Restart the charger. It shows as connected in the panel within a minute or two.
What to enter to connect it to askacharge.com
| OCPP server URL | wss://askacharge.com/askacharge/ocpp/your-brand — your-brand is your brand's identifier on askacharge.com (shown under Chargers → Add, with the full URL ready to copy). The charger appends its own identity; if your unit only has a URL field and no identity field, enter the full URL: …/ocpp/your-brand/identity. |
| Charge point identity | The same one you register in the panel when adding the charger. Case-sensitive. With Huawei, the serial number is the easiest choice. |
| Username and password | Required. The username is the charger identity and the password is the one the panel shows when you add the charger (shown once; if lost, generate a new one from the charger's page). Without it the server rejects the connection. This is OCPP Security Profile 2 (Basic Auth over wss://). If your model only supports unencrypted ws://, it can be allowed charger by charger on its page in the panel, and the password is still required. |
| Protocol | OCPP 1.6J (JSON) or OCPP 2.0.1. Subprotocol ocpp1.6 / ocpp2.0.1. |
| Before connecting | The charger must be registered in the brand with that identity; otherwise the server rejects the connection. Register under Chargers → Add. |
Want to check it before signing up for anything?
Point your charger at our OCPP test server: free, no account, over wss:// or ws://. You will see what it sends live and we will tell you what would fail when you connect it for real.
Where it usually fails
- The Username field comes filled with
user. Change it to the charger's identity, letter by letter: withuserthe server rejects it. - If it won't connect with TLS with basic authentication and everything else is right, the charger may lack the certificate root: add it under Trust Certificate (askacharge.com uses Let's Encrypt, root ISRG Root X1). If your unit does not allow it, there is the unencrypted route: Insecure transmission with basic authentication, port
80, and in the panel tick "Allow unencrypted connection" for that charger. The password is still required. - Do not type the serial number in Path: the charger adds it.
- Huawei's datasheet for these models says they are meant for residential use. For car parks charging third parties, ask your distributor first.
- Some platforms stopped accepting Huawei units in 2026. The reason is not public; with askacharge.com the connection is standard OCPP 1.6J and does not depend on an agreement with Huawei.
If your brand isn't here
The procedure is always the same; what changes is where the setting lives: look in the manufacturer's app, in the charger's web interface (by its IP) or in the installer software for a section called OCPP, Back office, Central System or Server. You need to be able to enter the URL and, nearly always, the identity. If the field is locked or missing, the manufacturer has tied the charger to its own platform: read what to do when the manufacturer locks or switches off its server.
